I don’t accept the things I cannot change. I change the things I cannot accept.

In early 2018, a routine procedure took a disastrous turn when a doctor accidentally punctured my colon, leading to a life-threatening ordeal. I went from having a thriving health practice and a fulfilling life to spending months in the hospital, battling severe complications, and fighting to stay alive. My journey of recovery highlights the power of resilience, positive attitude, and a fighting spirit.

At 45, I was enjoying a successful career, a loving family, and good health. A sudden, severe pain in my side led me to visit my doctor. Despite my self-diagnosis and resistance to hospital admission, my GP insisted on further investigation. An ultrasound revealed a mass in my abdomen, and I was scheduled for surgery.

I woke up to a nightmare: I had gone into septic shock due to a leak in my colon. Multiple surgeries left my stomach open, and I was placed on life support. The infection was severe, and my condition worsened, leading to a collapsed lung. The intense physical pain and trauma were overwhelming.

Despite feeling as though I was slipping away, I fought to stay alive. My near-death experience included a profound moment of peace, but I was pulled back to reality. Recovered from the ICU, I faced months of rehab, battling depression and frustration. A turning point came when I saw an elderly man overcoming his challenges in rehab. His determination inspired me to push through my own limitations.

After months in the hospital and enduring multiple setbacks, I was finally discharged. Returning home, I struggled with severe pain, dietary issues, and ongoing health challenges. My career and life had been upended, and I faced new realities, including a significant medical debt and the need for ongoing care.

Tragically, my husband of 27 years passed away suddenly, adding profound grief to my already difficult recovery. I felt overwhelmed, but this experience reinforced my need to rely on my inner strength. A panic attack during this time made me realize that rebuilding my life was up to me.

Six years later, my life has transformed. I celebrated my 51st birthday on a beautiful island in Greece, reflecting on my journey. The hardships I faced were immense, but they forged a stronger, more resilient version of myself. I returned to my profession, launched a new product range, and now continue to help others achieve optimal health with the wisdom gained from my years of experience as well as my own health issues that made me stronger and more determined than ever.

This journey taught me that we often underestimate our survival instincts. By following our gut, maintaining a positive attitude, and never surrendering to perceived fate, we can overcome incredible challenges. Life is precious, and I cherish it more than ever.

As a woman I am proud, strong and independent because I continue to believe in myself! I surround myself with women that support me through the good, the bad and the ugly.  My “vibe” is what attract my tribe. I don’t have special power that other do not have, but I have a fighting spirit that I keep alive inside me as we can all shape our future if we continue to create the life we want.  Let your inner goddess lead you and let the impossible becomes possible.

Happy Womens Month

Much love
